How-To: Hair from Day to Night

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Life can be hectic and sometimes we don’t have time to go home from work to change for an evening out.  Just a change in your lipstick color and your hair can take you from your day job look to a hot night out. “This is an easy way to do something different and fun with your look without making any permanent changes,” says stylist Riley Barker. Sometimes when you go out you look for that “wow” factor. Creating easy curls to an instant faux-bob will definitely make a statement.

Step 1: Curl Hair

Curl your hair using a medium barrel curling iron (1″-1 1/4″ works best). Flip hair upside down and spray with Oribe’s Dry Texture Spray.

Step 2: Tease

Tease hair at the crown and at the name of the neck

Step 3: Gather ends, pin at nape of neck, spray.

Gather all of the hair and slightly twist. Tuck hair into the teased area at the nape of the neck and pin where needed to hold hair up. Let pieces fall loosely and curl if necessary. Spray with Oribe’s Superfine Strong Hairspray for extra hold.

Second Annual Riley Cancer Center Prom SpaDay

amci photography

On Friday, May 6 salon owner, Sarah Cooper and assistant, Melissa Thayer packed their tools and headed downtown for Riley Cancer Center’s second annual SpaDay, an event hosted prior to Riley Cancer Center’s Prom.  Cooper and Thayer joined other hair stylists, nail technicians, and massage therapists from around Indianapolis who gathered together for one cause- to make Riley Cancer Center’s children feel beautiful for their prom held that evening. “Bobby Cooper Salon, for the second year in a row, donated their time and services to the wonderful children and their families for the 2nd annual Riley Prom.  The prom was for inpatients and outpatients of the Riley Oncology Unit.  Everything was donated to create a magical evening for these kids that let them take a break from focusing on their illness or treatment and truly enjoy being pampered all the way to the ball.  We were honored to be a part of this event again.  Thanks to the wonderful  “Women of Riley” for their time and effort they devoted to this night to remember.” said Cooper.
