This spring there’s something for everyone. Whether your hair is fine and straight or thick and wavy there’s a trend that you can create with minimal effort. All you need is the right products for your hair type and you’ll be turning heads all season long.
The “texture” trend is all about working with what you have. Women with thicker, naturally wavy hair would use a texturizing spray like Oribe Dry Texturizing spray from roots to ends and tease for an “undone” look. Women with fine straight hair should use a thickening spray like Oribe’s new Maximista. Spray Maximista on damp hair, blowdry upside down, and finish with Oribe Dry. To add more waves, wrap random hair pieces around a 1 1/4″ inch curling iron leaving ends out. Keep iron horizontal to create more of a wave (than a curl) like the Olsens’ above.
An exaggerated side-part is an easy style for girls with stick straight hair. Part hair to one side using a fine-tooth comb. To get super sleek strands, run Oribe Supershine Cream from roots to ends and blowdry with a boar bristle paddle brush. If you’re wanting a nighttime look pull hair back into a low ponytail like picture on the right. Finish with Oribe Soft Lacquer spray to add hold and extreme shine.
These styles are easy to achieve by prepping hair like the ways mentioned above. Keeping styles at the nape of the neck is what’s in this spring. Whether a knot or a pony, messy or sleek, you can do these in three minutes tops.
For a knotted, sleek bun brush hair back into a low ponytail only pulling hair halfway through, twist remaining hair, and then wrap it around the base of the ponytail. Secure hair with a few bobby pins and finish with Oribe’s Soft Lacquer Spray. For the middle look, get “textured” hair using Oribe Dry spray and a curling iron. Then divide into two sections, tie an actual knot and use bobby pins to secure. Let loose ends hang and tease to add extra texture. The last look is easy. Pull hair into a loose ponytail then pull the pony tighter to create a bump and pull a few pieces loose for more bedhead appeal.
On Sunday March 6, stylists from BCS gathered at the salon for a photo shoot. The inspiration? What each of them believe is beautiful. They prepared for weeks, collecting photos, art, or anything that spoke to their creative spirit. Then each stylist chose a model to help interpret their vision. With the help of our friends, Gina Howald (Imagination), Natalie Best (N. Rue), T’ai Rising-Moore (Awkward Beauty) Kim Osborne Conolly (Beautys and Beasts), and Hether Miles (Hether Miles Photography) a true and beautiful creation came to life. It was an extraordinary day and we want to share a piece of that with our clients and our fans.
